March 24 - May 1, 2021: Gabriel Rivera TABLETS
As a meditation on simplicity and presence(s) in the midst of complexity and distraction, Tablets is a series of botanically dyed tablets crafted with bookbinding techniques. The tablets, informed by origin, place, and movement, are color as song, chromatic records of non-anthropocentric lives. As an accompaniment to the tablets, an audio work created in Oaxaca, Mexico during Rivera’s residency at Pocoapoco brings further voice to Tablets.
